Konopiště Chateau

The last residence of Franz Ferdinand d'Este, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, began as a 13th-century Gothic castle. Tours of the south-wing apartments and the north wing with one of the richest armouries in the Czech lands last about 50 minutes; in winter they run mainly on weekends, and short extra tours cover the St. George museum and the rose-garden greenhouses.
