Johann Sebastian Bach, Thomaskantor here from 1723 to 1750, is buried in this church, and entry is free. Motets, usually sung by the St Thomas Boys Choir, take place on Fridays at 6 pm and Saturdays at 3 pm; tickets go on sale at the entrances 45 minutes before, with no advance sales.
