Mount Vesuvius Crater Trail (Gran Cono)

Trail no. 5 starts from the square at 1,000 m above sea level and climbs to the rim of Vesuvius's crater. Tickets are sold online only, with timed slots released 30 days ahead; there is no parking or public toilet at the trailhead square, and the trail closes on days of orange-level weather alerts.
