Taketa Bamboo Lantern Festival "Chikuraku"

About 20,000 bamboo lanterns made from locally cleared bamboo light up the streets, temples and stone steps of Taketa's old castle town for three evenings. The venue is a short walk from JR Bungo-Taketa Station, and it gets chilly after dark, so bring a warm layer.
