Kankakei Ropeway on Shodoshima

A 40-person gondola glides about 5 minutes each way through Kankakei Gorge, giving 360-degree views of craggy rock formations and the Seto Inland Sea. The fare is higher in November's foliage season, and the last car leaves at 5 pm, so start early if you plan to ride both ways.
