Kofuku-ji Temple & the Ashura Statue
Once the Fujiwara clan's family temple, Kofuku-ji stands right inside Nara Park, and its National Treasure Museum holds the famous three-faced, six-armed Ashura statue. The rebuilt Central Golden Hall is open, while the iconic five-story pagoda is hidden under a covering during a long restoration.
