Mactan Shrine (Liberty Shrine)
On Mactan's Punta Engaño Road, this shrine marks the 1521 Battle of Mactan, where a 1941 historical marker records that Magellan died after being wounded in an encounter with the warriors of Lapulapu, chief of Mactan.
