Mercado dos Lavradores (Farmers' Market)

Funchal's market, opened in 1940, with Estado Novo architecture and colourful tile panels, piled with tropical fruit, flowers and fresh fish. Go early in the morning when it is liveliest; it is closed on Sundays.
