Basilica of St John & Ayasuluk Hill

Emperor Justinian built this once six-domed basilica over the believed tomb of St John the Apostle, and the tomb and the baptistery can still be seen among the ruins. Ayasuluk Castle, with partly restored towers and walls, stands on the same hill but has shorter visiting hours, so head up there first.
