Things to do in Paris

Paris's landmarks start with the Eiffel Tower, where lifts climb to the second floor or the summit and night visits for the city lights are popular, and the Arc de Triomphe at the head of the Champs-Élysées. Art lovers can choose the Louvre, the Impressionists at the Musée d'Orsay, Monet's Water Lilies at the Musée de l'Orangerie or the sculpture garden of the Musée Rodin. On the Île de la Cité, see the reopened Notre-Dame and the stained glass of Sainte-Chapelle, then take a Seine cruise past the landmarks, tour the opulent Palais Garnier or walk the tunnels of the Catacombs underground. For slower days, climb to Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, wander the Marais to the Place des Vosges, take in the free Galeries Lafayette rooftop and relax in the Jardin du Luxembourg or at the Marché d'Aligre.

The Arc de Triomphe lift is under maintenance, so the top is reached by 284 steps.
