Things to do in Saipan

Saipan pairs turquoise water with WWII memory: boat over to Managaha Island, swim at Micro Beach, dive the Grotto or Laulau Bay, and take in Bird Island and the view from Mount Tapochau. In the north, Banzai Cliff, Suicide Cliff and the Last Command Post are memorials, while American Memorial Park and the NMI Museum tell the island's history.

Good to knowThe WWII sites are memorials — visit quietly and respectfully. American Memorial Park has no entrance fee. A strong rip current runs beyond the reef at Obyan Beach, so stay inside the reef. Managaha is reached by boat with tour operators.
