Hong Kong New Year Countdown
Thu, December 31, 2026 – Fri, January 1, 2027
Good to know
- The harbourfront on both sides of Victoria Harbour fills up hours before midnight on New Year's Eve, so arrive early and expect road closures.
- Light up Macao is spread across several neighbourhoods; walking between the sites after dark is the easiest way to see them.
- December evenings are mild but breezy by the water, so a light layer is enough.
