Things to do in Palawan (El Nido, Coron)

Palawan covers three bases: Puerto Princesa with the UNESCO-listed Underground River and Honda Bay, El Nido with its lettered island-hopping tours A to D and Nacpan Beach, and Coron with Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon, Barracuda Lake, World War II wreck dives, Maquinit hot spring and the Mount Tapyas viewpoint.

Good to knowThe Underground River needs a visitor entry permit from the official booking office ("no permit, no entry") with a daily cap, so book ahead. El Nido's lagoons also limit visitor numbers. The three towns are far apart; most visitors pick one or two and fly or take a boat between them.
