Kaiyuan Temple

One of Tainan's oldest temples, built on the site of the Beiyuan retreat from the Zheng era, with a garden of pavilions and a small winding bridge often praised as among Taiwan's finest. Ming-dynasty relics are preserved here, and it opens early in the morning.
