Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn)

A riverside temple on the Thonburi bank of the Chao Phraya, named after the dawn god Aruna, whose towering prang spires from the reign of King Rama II are covered in porcelain and seashell mosaics. Open daily 8:00 to 18:00 for 100 baht; look closely at the Chinese porcelain pieces and guardian figures on the tiers.
