Four Mile Beach

Port Douglas's main beach, with council lifeguards at set times and a swimming enclosure in stinger season (typically November to May) that gives a high degree of protection from box jellyfish but is not fully stinger-proof. Swim only between the red and yellow flags; a free beach wheelchair can be borrowed from the lifeguard hut.
