A self-guided exhibition explains how Appenzeller cheese is made from local milk, and cheesemaking can be watched daily until 15:00. The cheese counter carries over 80 varieties, and there is a restaurant and a large playground; open 9:00–17:30 from November to April and until 18:30 from May to October.
