Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum & One Pillar Pagoda

The mausoleum on Ba Dinh Square, built from 1973 to 1975, holds the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh; it opens only in the morning on Tuesday–Thursday and weekends and closes for maintenance for a period each year, so check before going. Nearby, the One Pillar Pagoda was built in 1049 on a single stone pillar rising from a lotus pond, and flag ceremonies take place on the square at 6:00 and 21:00.
