Son Tra Peninsula

A forested peninsula 10 km northeast of the centre, rising to 696 m and called the city's green lung; winding roads lead to Ban Co Peak, an ancient banyan tree and clear-water beaches such as Tien Sa, with views over the crescent-shaped city to Hai Van Pass. Keep an eye out for rare red-shanked douc langurs; there is no public transport, so go by car, motorbike or tour.
