Things to do in Koh Samui & Gulf Islands
15 picks in Koh Samui & Gulf Islands, Thailand: spots, food and events for travelers.
The islands of the Gulf of Thailand include Koh Samui with Chaweng Beach and the Big Buddha, Koh Phangan, known for its Full Moon Party, Koh Tao, a popular place to learn diving, and Ang Thong National Marine Park. Surat Thani on the mainland is the main gateway.
Good to knowThe Gulf islands have a different rainy season from the Andaman coast: the wettest months are usually around October to December, so they can be a good choice in mid-year when Phuket is rainy. Koh Samui has its own airport, and ferries run from the Surat Thani coast.
