About 3 km from the old town, round bamboo basket boats glide through nipa palm channels where the Thu Bon River meets the sea. Rowers spin the boats for show and let you try, with folk singing and net casting along the way; buy tickets at the village reception rather than from roadside touts, and go early morning or late afternoon.
