Angkor Thom & Bayon

Bayon, the state temple of King Jayavarman VII from the late 12th or early 13th century, stands at the centre of his capital Angkor Thom, its towers covered with serene smiling stone faces and its galleries carved with mythological, historical and everyday scenes. The three-tiered Baphuon temple mountain from the mid-11th century is nearby; Bayon is open 7:30–17:30 and covered by the Angkor Pass.
