Angkor Wat & Sunrise

Built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century as a temple to Vishnu, the west-facing complex is ringed by a moat and a 3.6 km outer wall, with long bas-relief galleries and countless devata carvings. It opens at 5:00 for sunrise (closes 17:30); entry needs an Angkor Pass from the official Angkor Enterprise (1-day US$37, 3-day US$62, 7-day US$72), and under-12s enter free but may not climb the upper tower.
