Siem Reap / Preah Khan
Preah Khan
Built for King Jayavarman VII in honour of his father on the site of his 1191 victory over the Chams, its name means "holy sword", and it once combined the roles of city, temple and Buddhist university. Largely unrestored, with trees growing among the ruins, it lies north-east of Angkor Thom and is open 7:00–18:30 with the Angkor Pass.
